A picture can say more than a thousand words, goes the expression. What it conveniently fails to mention is that these very words will produce a thousand pictures in the mind of the reader, more vivid and evocative than could ever be painted. One-pagersI found that one page in Word with standard settings will envelop a short-short story (less than 500 words). The format doesn't allow for very complex character development or deep plots but it's enough to express an idea.
